OVERVIEW
M230 rugged notebooks to the rescue
Scottish Ambulance is currently the only Ambulance Service in Britain to have developed an integrated Risk and resillience Department incorporating risk emergency planning. The team, including paramedics responds to large scale emergencies at part of the Special Operations Response team (SORT).

Extended Operation Industrial Control
Our customer required a rugged computer system to use in the existing outdoor enclosure with a large variety of I/O to interface with an industrial control system used at several Blue Chip companies around the UK. Steatite's solution utilises a high brightness TFT with extended temperature operation electronics together with a high airflow aluminium enclosure.

IP65 sealed Linux system wireless broadband distribution
The customer required a IP65 rated Linux based processing system to control a wireless broadband distribution system. Steatite designed and produced an IP65 reated enclosure and a specialist power supply for the requirement. A PC104 card was used for the processing togetherwith two PCMCIA cards for the wireless modems. The system has been deployed across the south of England to both residential and commercial users
Rugged Touch Screen PC Control
The customer required a small robust touch screen computer to provide control and reporting functions for a management application. Steatite designed and produced a rugged metal enclosure with plinth to give direct operator control in a harsh environment. The enclosure contains on SBC, display and touch screen together with all the relevant control electronics and solid state storage.
Digital Poster
Our customer required a range of commercial advertising solutions, updateable via WiFI and GPRS. Steatite designed a standard processing engine with GPRS and WiFi add'ons to be used with a range of TFT panels from 23" through to 46". The units will be used to establish a nationwide advertising network.
