Major Features of Memory Backup Batteries

1. High Voltage Simplifies Use

With a nominal voltage of 3 V, a single NOVEL memory backup battery can do the work of two to three conventional batteries. As a primary battery, no charging circuit is necessary. Special tabs also permit direct board mounting.

2. Provide Long Term Reliability

Thanks to the use of positive materials which have been specially pretreated, and a separator, these batteries have an extremely low self discharge rate and provide stable discharge characteristics over long periods of time, thus ensuring reliable memory backup.

3. Maintain Stable Voltage Over a Wide Temperature Range

These batteries can provide the stable discharge voltage you need for backup because they possess stable discharge characteristics over a wide serviceable temperature range of -20°C ~ +60°C, and they make it possible to minimize voltage changes even to the point where you no longer need to reduce excessive voltage levels when starting discharge.

4. Ensure Safety

The manganese dioxide which forms the positive material is a solid and chemically stable. The batteries, which possess excellent leak proof characteristics and use an electrolyte which has a very low corrosively, are extremely safe and will not damage printed circuit boards or other equipment.
