Steatite announce that Solid State PLC has acquired the
assets of Blazepoint Ltd, an
established supplier of rugged computer systems and hand held devices to the
commercial and military markets worldwide. In a deal that has secured the
ongoing Blazepoint technology which also
includes an innovative range of ruggedized peripheral products.
Blazepoint has a reputation for adapting Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS)
equipment and Military-Off-The-Shelf (MOTS) equipment, by transforming products
to work beyond the original manufacturer's specification. Blazepoint
trades under the 'ndura rugged' brand.
Now trading under the STEATITE BLAZEPOINT brand, the company sits under the Steatite arm of Solid State PLC. Steatite has built a strong reputation for supplying computing platforms to be used in harsh environments in both commercial and military applications and the addition of Steatite Blazepoint enhances this capability with their extensive knowledge of robust mobile computing platforms.
